Homes here sit right in the wind corridor off Flathead Lake. West-shore exposures dry hard in summer UV, take the brunt of winter wind-driven rain and ice, and go through aggressive freeze-thaw cycles where snowmelt refreezes on eaves. Roofs here need tight flashing, proper underlayment, and ideally a material that handles moisture well.
The two residential systems we install most:
We also handle roof repair, full tear-off and replacement, new construction roofing, and seasonal inspections. Ice dam and leak work on older lakefront cabins is a big chunk of what we do out here.
The commercial cluster along US-93 includes shops, marinas, restaurants, and rental properties. We install and maintain:
We schedule around the summer tourist season and send daily photo updates for owners who are not on-site.
We are a Malarkey Certified Contractor, which unlocks extended warranties on the shingles we install. For absentee and second-home owners, we run jobs remotely with photo updates, scheduled check-ins, and electronic billing. Read local feedback on our reviews page.
Lakeside sits at about 2,920 feet. Snowfall in town is moderate, but humidity and wind off the lake accelerate granule wear on south and west exposures. Homes up Angel Point Road and toward Blacktail Mountain see more snow and wildfire-exposed terrain, which shifts our recommendations toward Class A metal. Many properties are on well and septic, so we are careful with tear-off debris and staging.
Permits are pulled through Flathead County since most of the area is unincorporated.
Up the road we also work in Kalispell. Across the lake we cover Bigfork, and at the south end, Polson.

How long do roofs last near the lake?
Asphalt shingle roofs typically go 20 to 25 years, with west-shore exposures often on the shorter side due to UV and wind. Malarkey impact-rated shingles run 25 to 30 years. Standing seam metal lasts 40 to 50-plus years, which is why we recommend it on most lakefront homes.

What is the best roof for a lakefront cabin?
Standing seam metal. It handles lakefront humidity, resists corrosion, sheds snow, and carries a Class A fire rating. For traditional homes, Malarkey Vista or Legacy shingles are the best shingle option available.

Do you offer roof inspections and maintenance?
Yes. We do seasonal inspections and maintenance, which is especially valuable on the older lakefront cabins from Angel Point south where ice dams build on north-facing eaves every winter. Catching a soft spot or a missing fastener in spring is a 20-minute fix. Missing it usually means rotted decking and interior damage by the next thaw.

Can you do a project while I'm out of state?
Yes. Many owners here are seasonal. We document every step with photos, send updates, and handle billing electronically.
